3 Steps to Logging Out of Instagram on All of Your Devices
With over 800 million active users and more than 300 million photos shared every day, Instagram can be addictive and hard to log out of, especially if you’re using multiple devices. Follow these three simple steps to ensure you never find yourself logged into the popular photo-sharing app on any device without your knowledge.
1) How to log out of your phone
You can log out of your phone by pressing the home button and swiping up. You’ll see a prompt asking if you want to log out, so tap ‘Yes’. This will log you out from your phone. To log out of any other device, just follow the same steps.
To get back onto your phone from another device, just sign in with your password and you’ll be back in! Now that we’ve talked about how to log out of your phone and all other devices, let’s talk about how to delete the app altogether.
2) How to log out from your computer
- Click Log in or sign up.
- In the upper-right corner, click your account name and then Sign out.
- You should now be able to log back in on any device with the same account that you were logged into before if you want.
How to log out from your phone:
- Open the app you want to log out of.
- Tap the settings button (the gear icon) on the top right.
- Select Log Out (it’s listed under Settings).
- Tap logout and enter your password when prompted.
- Close Instagram and reopen it to continue using Instagram without logging in again!
3) What about logging out from someone else’s device?
You’ll be able to log out from your own device using one of the methods outlined above. If you want to log out from someone else’s device, you will need the account holder’s username and password in order to do so. To find this information, open Instagram on their device and click on Settings > Help > Contact Us at the bottom.
Then, select Report an Issue followed by I forgot my username or password. Once submitted, Instagram should send a message with a link that includes a login code that can be used to log into the account.
After logging in, select Account Management from the top menu bar and then scroll down until you see Delete My Account. Enter your username and password before clicking Submit Request. In about two weeks’ time, if you don’t log back into the account during that period, it will automatically delete itself.
Conclusion
You’ve successfully logged out of your Instagram account on your iPhone but you can’t remember how to log out on other devices. Here are three quick steps for logging out:
- Open the Instagram app from the device you want to log out from
- Select your profile name at the top right and select ‘Login Status’
- Make sure that all devices listed under ‘Active Sessions’ are crossed off and if they are not, tap them.
